The game of chess dates back to 600 A.D. Today, chess is one of the world's most popular games, played by millions. Now is the time to introduce your child to this old and popular game with many academic benefits!
There will be coaches teaching beginner, intermediate, and advanced skills. There are 10 sessions and each session consist of a 20 minute lecture and 55 minutes of play. Coaches and Club organizer Scott Thomas will head up the club sessions with parent volunteers. Parents are required to volunteer for at least 1 session. You do not need to know how to play chess to be a volunteer, but must be able to support children in paying attention and encourage them in playing chess.
