In our 4th-grade classroom at Flatirons Elementary, learning is an exciting blend of curiosity, creativity, and challenge. Students dive deep into rich and engaging stories from the Into Reading program, exploring characters, themes, and ideas that spark both imagination and critical thinking. Using the Depth and Complexity framework, learners go beyond surface-level understanding to uncover deeper meanings and connections, while the RIASEC model helps them discover their unique strengths, interests, and future pathways. Our classroom environment is built on encouragement, laughter, and thoughtful discussion—where students feel safe to take risks and grow. Whether analyzing a text, solving real-world problems, or engaging in hands-on projects, students learn to think deeply and act with purpose. Field trips, like our visit to AmeriTowne, bring economics to life and allow students to experience how communities work together. At Flatirons, we believe in cherishing the whole learner—nurturing not just academic skills, but also empathy, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.

"Flatirons kids: curious minds, kind hearts, unstoppable learners!"
