Principal's Message

At Flatirons Elementary, we believe every child has the potential to S.O.A.R.—to grow academically, socially, and emotionally in an environment that fosters Safety, Ownership, Aspire, and Respect. These core values guide everything we do, shaping a school culture where students feel supported, inspired, and empowered to reach new heights.

As the principal, I couldn’t be prouder of our dedicated staff, who bring experience, passion, and a deep commitment to student success. Our team works tirelessly to create a dynamic learning environment where students feel safe to take risks, explore their interests, and develop the confidence to navigate their learning journey.

At Flatirons, we embrace career-connected learning, community partnerships, and hands-on experiences that bring education to life. Through our strong collaboration with the University of Colorado Boulder, BVSD Gifted & Talented, the Educators Cooperative, and other community organizations, students engage in real-world learning that connects creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking with future opportunities. This elevates instruction for all students and extends opportunities for advanced learners.

Our Career-Connected Learning approach at the elementary level centers on student voice, curiosity, identity, and interests. Students practice the skills that matter for life: critical thinking, critical consumerism (evaluating information and media), and advocacy (using their voices to make a difference). We balance academic rigor with strong social-emotional learning, so children grow in both knowledge and character.

As Flatirons Falcons, we S.O.A.R. together, embracing inclusivity, kindness, and the power of WE—the belief that learning is strongest when we lift each other. We are committed to instilling a lifelong love of learning, ensuring every child has the tools, support, and encouragement to follow their passions and make a meaningful impact on the world.
