Flatirons Elementary is a warm, welcoming neighborhood school nestled beneath the majestic Flatirons, within walking distance of Chautauqua Park, the University of Colorado, and downtown Boulder. With a rich tradition of exceptional education, our success is built on dedicated staff, engaged students, and strong family partnerships.
We foster a culture that celebrates creativity, curiosity, and the pursuit of students' passions and dreams. Our approach integrates academic excellence and social-emotional learning, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning and career/college readiness. Through career-connected experiences and meaningful community partnerships, including a strong collaboration with the University of Colorado, Boulder, students engage in hands-on learning that extends beyond the classroom. These opportunities empower them to explore future career paths, develop real-world skills, and connect their learning to the world around them.

Dare to Dream transforms how our K-5 students think about their futures—moving from "What do I want to be?" to "What are my talents and interests?" Watch our students explore career connections through hands-on learning, community partnerships, and real-world problem solving.
This career-connected approach is woven throughout our curriculum year-round. Students discover their strengths through ongoing lessons, meet inspiring guest speakers, and see how today's math, science, and literacy skills connect to tomorrow's possibilities. Aligned with BVSD Grad+ and our commitment that every student is known, challenged, and supported, Dare to Dream helps every child find purpose in their learning and excitement for their future.

Our location next to the University of Colorado creates wonderful opportunities for our students. Through partnerships with CU Science Discovery and CU Elementary Arts Lab, we bring exciting hands-on experiences directly into our classrooms. These aren't just field trips—CU educators work closely with our teachers to design fun, original activities that you won't find anywhere else.
Students enjoy having CU student-athletes coach games during recess, learn alongside student teachers who bring fresh energy to our classrooms, and participate in special workshops with groups like CU ATLAS for creative building and design projects. These partnerships give our K-5 students early glimpses of what learning can look like beyond elementary school while making their daily experiences more engaging.
Our community connections help create a supportive network where every student can explore their interests and see exciting possibilities ahead.
